May 10, 1888 Chaska Valley Herald Died- At his home in Chaska, on Wednesday, May 2, 1888, Casper Bohlig, age 66 years. Mr. B. was one of the old pioneers of this County, having settled in Chanhassen in the year 1856. He resided in Chanhassen until about ten years ago, when he moved to this village and he has resided here ever since. Although suffering for many years from a very bad rupture, he still labored whenever able. He was an man and had a large circle of friends who will deeply regret to hear of his sudden an unexpected death. He leaves two children, a son and a daughter. The funeral on Friday afternoon and was largely attended. Nov 3, 1887 Chaska Valley Herald Died- Mrs. Frank Bolig, for many years a resident of Chanhassen, near Riley's Lake, dies on Friday, Oct. 21st, and was buried in Shakopee, on Sunday Oct. 23rd. Mrs. B., was 64 years of age and was well known to all of all of our old citizens. She has been acting in the capacity of nurse for many years and had a very large circle of warm friends, who deeply regret her sudden death. She leaves several children, who have the sympathy of all. Oct 26, 1887 Shakopee Courier Died- Mrs. Bohlig, an old resident of Chanhassen near Riley's Lake, died last Friday and was buried Sunday from the Lutheran church of Shakopee, a large number of friends and neighbors attending, she was about 65 years of age. Feb 16, 1899 Chaska Valley Herald Died- Fanny Bohlig, a sister of Michael Bohlig of this city, died in the city hospital at Mpls., after an illness of nearly nine years of inflammatory rheumatism. The funeral will take place Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Lutheran church in this city. Deceased was born in the town of Chanhassen about 33 years ago and has resided in this city and vicinity most of her life time ans was respected and loved by all who knew her.- Shakopee Tribune Miss Bohlig was a sister of Frank Bohlig, formerly of this city and was a lady highly respected. She has been a great sufferer and death was a welcome messenger. Feb 21, 1901 Scott Co. Argus Died- Fischer.- At Mpls, Wednesday, Feb. 20, of pneumonia. Mrs. Carrie Fischer, nee Bohlig, aged 61 years. The remains will be brought here tonight and the funeral will tke place from the Lutheran church, tomorrow afternoon, at 2 o'clock. Feb 22, 1901 Shakopee Tribune Undertaker Alois Hirscher was called to Mpls. last Wednesday to arrange for the conveying of the remains of Mrs. Carrie Fischer, nee Bohlig, to this point, her old home, for burial. Mrs. Fischer's death occured that morning and the body will be brought here tonight and buried from the Lutheran church tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock. She was 61 years of age. April 21, 1892 Chaska Valley Herald Mike Bohlig has moved to Chaska, having sold his Chanhassen farm. He will make this his future home. We welcome him here. Oct 8, 1869 Chaska Valley Herald Fred Bohlig was brought before Justice Iltis, Monday, and ordered to pay costs and give security to keep the peace against all mankind and especially against his "frau" Mrs. Bohlig. Fredrick said he would not pay a cent, would not give security for his good behaviour but would willingly go to jail. The last we saw Bohlig he was looking through one of the deamond windows of the jail, meditating upon terrestial things. May 8, 1879 Chaska Valley Herald Fred Bohlig listed among Civil War vets in Second Regiment, engaged in these battles, Mill Spring, Cornith, Braggs Raid, Chickamauga, Mission Ridge, Resaca, Kenesaw Mt., Jonesboro, Sherman march through Georgia and Carolinas, Bentonville. Sept 8, 1886 Shakopee Courier Frank Bohlig has got his store in the Hamilton building well filled with all sorts of goods and all arranged and kept in a neat manner. As Frank is a lame boy and not able to do hard work, he should be encouraged by a liberal patronage and we trust will meet with success. Nov 21, 1912 Chaska Valley Herald Mrs. Thekla Bohlig, aged 84, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mathew Mersh, on Tuesday morning, Nov. 12th. Her death was due to infirmities of old age. Mrs. Bohlig was the widow of Casper Bohlig who preceded her to the grave several years ago. They were some of the first settlers here having moved here from Germany, their childhood home about forty years ago. The funeral was held from St. Marks Catholic church, Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock. The remain were laid to rest in the upper Catholic cemetery. We take the above from the Shakopee Tribune. Mrs. Bohlig was an early resident of Chanhassen, settling there in the fifties. Nov 15, 1912 Scott Co. Argus Mrs. Thekla Bohlig died suddenly at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Matt Mersch, Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 12th, of infirmities of old age. Deceased had not been feeling as well as usual for several days but ate dinner with the family on the day of her death, afterward lying down to rest. Sometime later when her daughter went to see that she was comfortable she found that she had passed away peacefully, death having claimed her in her sleep. Mrs. Bohlig was 84 years old and came here from germany to make her home with her daughter many years ago. Besides the latter, one son Henry Bohlig, survives her. The funeral was held yesterday morning at 9 o'clock from St. Marks church. Rve. Fr. Koller was the officiating clergyman and interment was in the upper cemetery. Dec 29, 1905 Shakopee Tribune Died: Henry Bohlig- In Mpls., Monday evening, Dec. 25, 1905 at 10:45 o'clock, of spinal trouble, aged 47 years. Deceased was a former resident of Chanhassen and was well known in this city, where the body was brought for burial yesterday. He was unmarried, his only near surviving relatives being two brothers and one sister. The funeral took place at 2:00 o'clock yesterday afternoon from St. John's Evangelical German Lutheran church the Rev. Carl Ganschow officiating. The interment was in the Valley Cemetery. Relatives from out of town who attended the funeral were Fred, Michael, Henry M. and Peter Bohlig, Mrs. M. Robinson and Ed Hartz all of Mpls. Dec 29, 1905 Scott Co. Argus The funeral of Henry Bohlig whose remains were brought her from Mpls. for interment was held yesterday afternoon from St. John's Lutheran church, Rev. Carl Ganschow conducting the services. Mr. Bohlig a former resident of this city was the youngest brother of Mike and Fred Bohlig both former residents. He was 48 years of age and had been a helpless sufferer for the past 12 years of rheumatism. Mar 4, 1921 Shakopee Argus The remains of Mrs. Catherine Reauvger were brought here Monday from Mpls. for interment in Valley cemetery. Deceased was the mother of Michael Bohlig, a former resident of Shakopee. She was 91 years old and died Saturday of the infirmities of age. Apr 18, 1935 Shakopee Argus-Tribune Michael Bohlig, 79, a resident of Shakopee died at the home of his son, Irving, in Mpls. last Thursday. Funeral services were conducted at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon and interment was made at Valley cemetery, Shakopee. Mr. Bohlig was born at Dayton's Bluff, St. Paul and lived in Shakopee 15 years before moving to Mpls. He was a retired employee of the Northern Pacific Railroad. Surviving Mr. Bohlig are his wife; two sons, Walter, St. Paul and Irving, Mpls.; a daughter Mrs. Irene Anderson, Mpls.; and seven grandchildren. May 15, 1902 Chaska Valley Herald Peter Bohlig of Mpls. and Miss Luetke of Young America were happily married at Norwood on Wednesday, May 14. Mr. Bohlig is a younger brother brother of Frank Bohlig, the cigar manufacturer of Mpls. and is a young man og good character and his many friends in this city extend him their best wishes for a long life of married happiness.
