Aug 15, 1889 Chaska Valley Herald Died- William Geisler, an old citizen of Chanhassen, was buried on Thursday, Aug. 8th, from the Lutheran church, Shakopee. He was 59 years of age at the time of his death and had been unwell for a number of years. He settled in this County in 1858 and leaves a widow a number of grown children. May 25, 1882 Shakopee Argus Marriage License issued to Emma Geisler and Gustav Leopold. April 3, 1902 Scott Co. Argus -Emma Geisler of Chanhassen aged 42 years, was brought before the Probate Court, Tuesday forenoon, and examined for insanity. After due examination, Dr.'s Schober and Marshall, conducting the same, she was pronounced insane and ordered committed to the asylum at St. Peter, where she was taken by Sheriff Johnson and lady assistant. Argus Following an illness of only a few days, Louis Geisler died Saturday, March 9th, of pneumonia and complications at the home of his brother Christ Geisler of Eden Prairie. deceased was born March 30, 1859 in Chanhassen township and spent all of his life in that vicinity on a farm. He was unmarried and since the death of his parents had made his home with his brother. Surviving him are two brothers, Christ and William, the later of Hopkins. The funeral was held Tuesday from St. John's Lutheran church in Shakopee. Rev. John D. Detgen officiating. Interment was in the Valley cemetery. Mr. Geisler was respected and well liked in the community where he had resided so long and many acquaintances were in attendance at the funeral to pay a last tribute of respect to his memory. relatives who came from other points were Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Geisler and Jesse Good Hopkins, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Patzke and family of Chaska. July 10, 1941 Hennepin Co. Review William F. Geisler, 80, of 228 Excelsior ave. passed away yesterday at his home. He was working in his garden when collapsed about 2 P.M. and died almost immediately. Mr. Geisler came to Hopkins in 1915 after he had retired from farming. He was born on a Carver Co. farm. Since Mrs. Geislers death in June 1922, he had lived alone at their Excelsior Ave. home. Funeral services, after brief rites at the home, are expected to be at Lakewood Chapel in Mpls. on Saturday with the Strobeck Mortuary making the arrangements. July 17, 1941 Shakopee Argus-Tribune Old neighbors and friends attended the last rites Saturday afternoon, held for William Geisler of Hopkins, who passed away Wednesday afternoon while working in garden. Funeral services were conducted from his home in Hopkins and later from Lakewood Chapel in Mpls. Friends from here including John Rogers, Joseph Feldman, Rinault Dorn, Fritz Zimmerman, acting for his father, Charles Zimmerman, Charles Techam of Hopkins and Gavarre Justus of Hopkins, carried him to his last resting place. For many years he had been a resident of this community, later moving to Hopkins, where he made his home. He was married to the late Carrie Good, who preceded him in death in 1922. Review Several neighbors and friends attended the funeral of an old time resident of this community Friday afternoon when Christ Geisler was laid to rest in the family lot at Valley cemetery, Shakopee. Mr. Geisler was born in Chanhassen on March 28, 1864 and spent his boyhood on his fathers farm in the Geisler homestead. On Sept. 6, 1910 he was united in holy matrimony to Miss Laura Patzka, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Patzka of Chaska, after they resided in Eden Prairie until 1918 when he and his little family moved to Shakopee where he resided until his death. Apparently in good health Mr. Geisler returned from up town about noon Tuesday and had gone out to gather eggs from the barn and when the family discovered him sometime later, believed to be a victim of a heart attack. He leaves to mourn his loss his widow, one daughter, Myrtle, at home and one brother, William of Hopkins. Four of his former neighbors from here acted as pallbearers, namely, Paul Vogel, Alfred Dorn, Charles Zimmerman and Joseph Feldman. Rev. H.W. Schroser officiated at the last rites conducted from St. John's Lutheran Church at Shakopee at 2 o'clock. May 12, 1932 Shakopee Argus-Tribune Death suddenly calls Christ Geisler, a resident of this community many years. Mr. Geisler had not been well for several weeks. Complaining of his heart, he visited a doctor who advised him to be careful and rest, refraining from exertion of any kind. On Tuesday about 12 o'clock he was seated on the barn steps when he was taken with a violent attack to which he succumbed shortly thereafter before medical aid could be summoned. August Christopher Geisler was born at Chanhassen, Carver Co., Minn., on March 28, 1864. His boyhood was spent on his father's farm, the Geisler homestead. On Sept. 6, 1910 he was united in marriage at the City of Chaska to Laura Patzka. Beside his wife he is survived by one daughter, Myrtle at home and one brother William Geisler of Hopkins. He had always been engaged in farming until the fall of 1918 he retired and with his little family came to live in Shakopee where he continued to reside up to the time of his death. Mr. Geisler was a thrifty, industrious man always and during his residence here he used to do odd jobs here and there until the more recent years he took life more easy, spending much of the his time hunting and fishing, a pastime he ever liked to indulge in. He used to like to spend a part of his leisure time in care of his chickens of which he always had a nice flock. he had been up town that morning and it is thought upon returning home he had gone to the hen coop to gather eggs, a part of his daily routine. Mr. Geisler was known by his friends and acquaintances as a good natured docile man who ever manifested a lively interest in the affairs about him and in the civic progress of the community. The funeral will take place from his home and from St. John's church Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. H.W. Schroeder as the officiating clergyman. The interment will be in the Valley cemetery. June 9, 1922 Shakopee Argus Mrs. Wm Geisler of Hopkins has been a patient at Shakopee hospital, died Sunday afternoon at 12:50 o'clock. The remains were taken to Hopkins that evening and funeral services were held Wednesday at Lakewood chapel, Mpls. Interment was at Lakewood cemetery. Mrs. Geisler is survived by her husband and a niece who made her home with them. Deceased was a fine type of Christian womanhood and her death is deeply regretted. The sympathy of friends is extended to the bereaved relatives in their loss. Mr. and Mrs. Chris Geisler and Mr. and Mrs. I.W. Anderson of this city were in attendance. Mar 27, 1889 Scott Co.
