Nov 1, 1894 Scott Co. Argus DIED: Heibel, Monday, Oct 29, 1894 of apoplexy, John Heibel, age 87 years. Sept 10, 1909 Scott Co. Argus Mrs. Elizabeth Heibel aged 88 years and 5 mos., for many years a highly respected resident of this city, died Wednesday evening at 8:30 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charles Strunk of Jordan. Death resulted from the infirmities of age. Mrs. Heibel was born in Germany, residing there until after her marriage, when the family emigrated to America in 1851. They settled first at Tipton, Mo., and 8 years later moved to Marystown where Mr. Heibel was engaged in farming for twenty years. After retiring from the latter occupation, they came to Shakopee to reside. Mr. Heibel died several years ago and during her later life Mrs. Heibel had made her home with her son Henry, until 3 months age when she went to Jordan. She leaves to mourn her loss, six of a family of ten children. The survivors are Ven. Sr. Francisca of Chicago; Ven. Sr. Cornelia of Milwaukee; John Heibel of Mpls.; Edward of Clear Lake; Mrs. Charles Strunk of Jordan and Henry of this city. The remains were brought here yesterday and the funeral will be held tomorrow morning from St. Mark's church of which deceased was a devout member. Rev. Mons. Plut will conduct the services and interment will be in the upper cemetery. The family have the sympathy of friends in their bereavement.
