May 7, 1931 Hennepin Co. Review - Eden Prairie Column Our neighboring village of Chanhassen experienced considerable excitement Saturday afternoon when a lone bandit walked into the Chanhassen State Bank and ordered E.F. Kelm to lie on the floor while he counted out $820 in cash. He then ordered Mr. Kelm to drive his car until within a mile from Mpls. where he ordered him to get out. The bandit escaped in the traffic and up tp Tuesday had not been apprehended. Aug 29, 1901 Chaska Valley Herald Mrs. Carie Nation visited Chanhassen last night but was badly mistaken, for she broke the front windows of the H.L. Kelm store and thought it was a saloon. Two large stones were thrown through the front windows about 11 o'clock at night. Suitbertus officiating. The contracting parties are two of the most prominent young people of this vicinity. The bride is the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Fred Geiser a young lady very highly esteemed for her pleasing manner and lady like disposition. Henry is far too well known to speak of his prominence. The bride was beautifully attired in a gown of white silk and carried roses & carnations. Her bridesmaid Miss Sadie Nee also wore white, her flowers were roses. J.M. Geiser brother of the bride was the best man. After the ceremony the wedding party accompanied by a few relatives and intimate friends repaired to the home of the brides parents where a repast was served. The newly married couple have purchased a residence here and will start house keeping as soon as their honey-moon is over. We join with their numerous friends in wishing them a bright and prosperous future.
